The village of Vermontville is located 14 miles northwest of Charlotte. It is primarily an agricultural community with many farms located nearby. Driving through the area you will certainly notice the numerous horse barns and pastures.

Vermontville is home to the original maple syrup festival in Michigan, held the last full weekend in April. This has been an annual tradition for many years.

No other town or city in Michigan can compare with Vermontville as to the unique manner in which it was founded. While other town's came into being by chance, usually influenced by some geographical advantage, Vermontville was the result of careful planning and the plans were made hundreds of miles removed from the forested wilderness that was destined to become a town.
